sorority president boulder

by: sorority

i recently have had a Sorority president dm on instagram asking to hang out and that she’s excited to see me during the fall and reach out if i had any questions. Should i assume she is bidding me or just brush it off cause i’ve asked a few of my friends and none of them have gotten a text from any active members.

Do you know this person? Do you have any mutual friends? Are your parents friends with her parents? Context matters.

That’s dirty rushing, especially since work week has started.

is that a good thing or bad thing. This was before work week also, but should i expect anything or still go into rush week with an open mind. It is one of my top choices and a top house but I also dont want it to be false hope.

It means you are on their radar, so take it as a good sign, but it’s not an actual bid or anything. You can go into rush knowing you are already on their interest list.

that’s a big no no! do not reply or engage with this person. read the recruitment rules- you could be dismissed from recruitment too-it’s not just the house that gets in trouble. not worth the risk.

pnm’s- Just a reminder, you need to be following ALL houses if you are rushing. It’s a super bad look if you follow one or two houses and contrary to what most people think, most girls have friends in many different houses and they talk. Also, be sure you are following Panhel too!

finally just because a house follows you this does not mean you are getting a bid. bid promising goes on occasionally and a lot of girls feel mislead and disappointed when the get dropped.

That’s the definition of dirty rushing:

"no contact, with regards to recruiting for a specific chapter, can occur between sorority members and potential new members after May 1. This includes letters, emails, phone calls, texts or comments on social media."

ffr - not only could she get her house in trouble- she can get pnm’s released from recruitment. Dirty Rushing goes both ways (house and pnm)

Any chance this was a professional fraternity or an affiliate sorority chapter? The rules only apply to the 9 chapters that are about to go thru recruitment.
