what’s up with CU Panhellenic?
by: PANHELI am starting to feel like cu panhel is really disorganized. I still can’t figure out how so many girls didn’t receive bids this year (?) Was quota set wrong or what? I went to panhel’s website and a lot of the info on there hasn’t been updated since 2020. I know they post on Insta, but how do you still have info from 2020 on your website? Like literally every other CU website is up to date except Boulder Panhellenic. 🙄
#11by: shame on cu panhel
they were dealt a challenging situation (record number of PNMs, down one house) and fumbled HARD.
not only did many PNMs get dropped/drop from recruitment but from a logistical standpoint, it was a complete trainwreck.
Zoom calls started and running crazy late, conflicting info on COB/MRABA that is yet to be clarified (on the pref night zoom call they kept saying stuff that DIRECTLY contradicted what the MRABA said about that), technical difficulties and misspellings galore, terrible communication about everything (esp event times, dress codes, rush rules), no clear guide or reference for how to use ICS (led to some PNMs accidentally ranking wrong or not ranking at all), the pre bid day release calls didn’t even START going out by the time they said they’d be finished (giving tons of PNMs false relief), absolutely terrible greek buffs guide (misspellings, typos, weird formatting, inconsistencies, lack of helpful info & clarity, and most of all almost NOBODY knew about the guide in the first place because it was never printed and barely mentioned to the poor PNMs!), not to mention that their website is crazy outdated and difficult to navigate.
the houses and PNMs put so much time and energy into rush and you can tell it! but based panhel’s performance this rush, it looks like those in charge of fall recruitment cut corners and didn’t give the process the time and effort it NEEDS. shame.
#12by: Oh wow!!!
Let me explain:
If you attend 2 prefs and list them both on the MRABA you will receive a bid from one of those sororities.
If you attend one pref and list that sorority on your MRABA, you will receive a bid.
If you SIP, you will receive a bid as long as your names appears on that sorority’s bid list at or before they reach quota. If your name appears after quota, you will not match, but could be picked up via quota additions or COB, but those chances are verysmall. You can participate in COB and spring recruitment.
If you sign the MRABA and get a bid and then drop the sorority BEFORE you are initiated, you would not be able to participate in COB or spring recruitment, but you can rush again the next fall formal recruitment.
If you receive a bid and become an initiated member and then drop, you may not join another NPC sorority ever.
#13by: nope
see above:
“ If you attend 2 prefs and list them both on the MRABA you will receive a bid from one of those sororities.
If you attend one pref and list that sorority on your MRABA, you will receive a bid.”
This is not correct b/c girls got calls late on bid day notifying them that they didn’t receive a bid from the house(s) they pref’d.
#15by: sorry
any girl that accepted a bid and then dropped is going to have a hard time going through recruitment as a sophomore. There are already so many cute girls that want to come to CU next year and houses will almost alway take a freshman over a sophomore. I wish the girls that are dropping would have given it a couple more weeks 😞

100% agree. So glad the chapters were able to piece it all together. Ik that turnout was much greater than expected, but there is no excuse for all of the mistakes and miscommunications on the part of panhel. They should have either capped registration or increased quota. No hate, but this was an epic fail and a really bad look for CU greeklife!
