Do Legacies Matter????

Does being a legacy not matter anymore???? My dd got dropped from both her legacy houses before pref. We are OOS and I thought being a legacy was going to really help her. She accepted a bid to her 3rd choice but still….😞

I know pi phi and aphi updated their national policies to not favor legacies as much. If you’re a legacy as in your older sister was in that house you’re in. Otherwise, it doesn’t seem to matter.

I believe every house at Boulder (with the possible exception of chi o?) did away with their legacy policies a few years ago. If your dd got dropped before pref by a house that still has a legacy policy, then that is the last stage they can drop legacies before they would have to put them on the top of their bid list. I’m happy your dd got a great house and I’m sure she’ll have a wonderful experience!
