by: FreshmanIm thinking of cobing and I’m really confused about these three they seem all over the place. What’s the order/ difference between these three? Based on who I’ve met they seem really similar but I know some people say Kappas are mean. Is it true?

That’s a loaded question and you’ll probably get a whole bunch of responses, because the three compete against each other. I don’t know if any of them will cob this year. You could probably go through the site and see what peoples general perceptions are the three.👍

This is not true at all. Boulder KKG has 37.8k followers on TT. The next closest is Aphi with only 26k followers. Like it or not they are a top house with a very strong presence at CU.

kappa has been buying followers to try to become relevant the past couple years. Everyone at cu know this.

If your student received an invitation to membership from any sorority that they ranked on their MRABA, then they are bound to that group for one calendar year, from Sept. 2023-Sept. 2024, regardless of whether they accept the bid or not. This means they are not eligible to participate in Continuous Open Bidding (COB) in fall 2023 or spring 2024. However, they are eligible to participate in recruitment again in the next primary recruitment period, fall 2024.
If your student chose not to complete the MRABA and withdrew from recruitment, they are eligible to accept a bid for membership from any sororities participating in COB. While not guaranteed, a small number of sororities may be able to recruit a limited number of women through the COB process after primary recruitment.

Does anybody else feel like this is kind of messed up? As Pnm’s we were told to trust the process so we went as far as we could. Now, if it didn’t work out, we are told that we have to wait a year. Also, I’ve heard that houses will prioritize freshmen over sophomores? Is that true? I know I won’t get back the houses that dropped me next year. I get that. But I feel like if I wait and don’t cob I may miss out entirely? Also, an someone pls explain SNAP bidding??????

you only wait a year if you get a bid from a house and don't accept the bid or drop after bid day. yes, they prioritize freshmen because that's a girl who would be in the chapter for 4 years vs. 3, BUT if you plan on rushing as a sophomore just get involved in other activities on campus and keep up your gpa - that'll show you're going to be a well-rounded member and increase your chances. snap bidding is for houses that don't have a full pc on bid day (i.e. not enough girls preffed them) so they're able to give out bids day of to girls who dropped or were dropped to fill their pc, usually tri delt and phi mu (rip) are the chapters that would do this. snap bids are only given out ON bid day, anything after would be cob.

So if you get dropped from your first choice after pref but got a bid from your second choice & don’t want it, do you still have to wait a year?

Also, clean up your socials if you haven’t already. I’m seeing girls baffled by why they got dropped, and I can look at one or two of their posts and see why. Boys & Booze scream Standards Risk!
