PC Thoughts?? New ranks?
by: Results
Ranks for sure got shaken up this year! It’s dumb to have so many tiers but there are noticeable differences between the houses even in the same tiers, when you rank them it matters but in reality greek life at CU isn’t that serious and you’re gonna have a great time in most houses. Ranks more like this now:
Best:
Pi Phi: Not much to say because as usual best PC, best chapter, one of the best bid day themes and decor. Other houses aren’t close.
Top:
DG: This PC looks like their usual group they get. Already we’re a strong house and are maintaining. Their bid day theme was done well but screamed 2010, and not in a good way.
APhi: Looks like they got their usual girls, with such a strong type they aren’t for everyone but for the type of girls they recruit they are #1. Their bid day theme and decor was probably the worst of all. The balloons were working overtime to save bid day.
Mid top:
Chi O: had been dropping for a while but absolutely killed it this recruitment cycle. Bid day theme was very cute. This years recruitment is helping them stay towards the top.
AXO & Theta: These two are pretty equal now and got similar PCs.
AXO has been killing recruitment for a few years now and have really improved their chapter. They got a great PC and PNMs were loving them. Their bid day theme was generic but made for cute pictures.
Theta has been a strong middle chapter for along time and did really good in recruitment this year. They have a really good reputation in the Greek community and were also loved by PNMs. Their bid day theme was very cute and well decorated. More unique and stuck out among the sea of pastel colored bid days.
Middle:
Kappa: Kappa came on here and self ranked so hard all summer then flopped during recruitment. They lost a lot of good PNMs to AXO and Theta. Still a respectable house and the girls will have fun being a sister but AXO and Theta have pulled ahead of them. They had a well defined bid day theme but the decorations weren’t great and a lot of actives looked more like they were wearing costumes rather than dressing for a theme.
Bottom:
GPhi: Has been struggling the last few years, started looking up for them when Phi Mu was getting more established but now that they are gone GPhi is heavily cross rushing with Tri Delt to pick up the PNMs that would have been Phi Mu. Didn’t do as good as they should have for recruitment but their bid day theme was cute and made for good pictures with all the real flowers.
Tri Delt: Phi Mu leaving really helped them this year, they still got a lot of their usual non typical sorority girls but they also picked up a lot of girls that GPhi was probably wanting. They did great this year and they had the best bid day decorations, everything was so cute and colorful and made for great photos.

Pi Phi and Aphi compete every year for the #1 pledge class, ask someone on Panhellenic or who's been in a sorority longer than a year to know. Pi Phi's rush was not as good as their rush last year. Still an insanely good class and top tier sorority. Between the two Aphi got the best pledge class this year, which was notably stronger than last year's pledge class. Still doesn't mean they're instantly the #1 house. Those two go back and forth enough where it doesn't really matter

It's not that aphi isn't sought after, it's just that they are sought after by different kinds of girls. They recruit on looks and # of followers first, and want hot girls. Believe it or not, a lot of girls drop aphi early on because they know that they are not a fit in that house. And that's okay!
IMO GPA, Sisterhood, Leadership, Philanthropy are very secondary reasons for these girls to join a sorority (and again that's okay-girls rush for different reasons). They are big partiers, super social and frat boys LOVE them. Girls suicide them because they would rather have no house at all then not be an aphi. This really screwed up recruitment this year because a lot of girls pref'd aphi and a lower tier house and then suicided aphi. If they didn't get a bid from aphi, they dropped completely.

If you're on campus you know that Pi Phi, Aphi, and DG all have essentially the exact same social circles, mix with the same frats, and tons of them are friends with each other (and girls in other sororities). It just doesn't make sense when people come on here and say that one rush completely changed Boulder greek life or that any house is that much "better" than the other. It's just about who you want to spend your time with!
