Is being a legacy bad?
by: legacy
I know it doesn't help to be a legacy, but I've heard that it can actually hurt your chances at CU? A friend who went through last year told me that some girls in her dorm got dropped during the video round from their legacy houses and they now regret even listing it on the registration. Maybe they got dropped for other reasons but they were all upset because it seemed like it wasn't a coincidence.
If being a legacy doesn't help, why does the form ask for it and should I just leave that part blank? I am a legacy and I don't want to get dropped from that house just for that reason.

I would tell your legacy GLO, but no one else. Other chapters might feel that you are going to your legacy house, and not give you as much consideration.
Having said that, being a legacy doesn't necessarily carry as much weight as it used to. It will depend on the sorority as to how much weight they give it. Sometimes it will get you past the first round, but not necessarily past the second.
