Can I rush if I transfer to Anschutz?

by: Hi

Hey girlies, going into my last semester of high school and CU is the my dream school. I come from a long line of southern sorority women, so obviously I want to go through rush. The thing is I really want to major in nursing, so I think I’d have to transfer to the Anschutz campus in Denver junior year. Is it frowned upon to rush with this path in school? And would the sorority I get into let me become an alumni member if I have to transfer? Want to have the experience of being in a sorority in a big college town, but don’t want to have to compromise my career choice or prolong my time in school trying to do both.

Yes, but I wouldn’t tell them because houses want to retain members for all 4 years and usually will drop girls that mention transferring. Just say you want to do nursing post-grad. As for early-alumni status, it really depends on the sorority. Some will grant early-alumni status as long as you are in good standing and transferring to a school that does not have your house on campus.

U can defintely do this just don’t mention it during rush so if by chance they will judge they won’t. But i don’t think they’ll care a sorority just accepted a sophomore that’s here from England on a gap year. Another junior just transferred to a school closer to her too for example. I’ve heard of many exceptions maybe just don’t talk ab it during recruitment for a better shot
