i’m wondering how competitive rush is. how many girls get bids and if they don’t what are the reasons(to be blunt: unattractive, bad instagram following, etc.) and how do u avoid being dropped?

Sorority rush at boulder is very competitive. It’s a shorter process compared to SEC schools, but similar in the selectiveness of the houses here. Because there is fewer houses, they take more members so a typical pledge class is around 100 members. However, this is a lot smaller for the bottom houses. The best way to end up at your perfect house is to be yourself throughout rush, girls can usually see through the phoniness which is a big turn off during rush. However, to get into a top house you usually do have to be extremely gorgeous with a great personality and be a genuinely outgoing person. Trust the process and be the best version of yourself and you’ll end up where you belong!

Yeah, I remember reading some statistics saying that there were the same amount of girls that go through rush at CU as the university of Alabama

Sororities look at a lot of different factors. Some factors will be common to all, and some unique to each chapter. Beyond being friendly and put-together, a sorority will look at things like your GPA, your activities, your legacy status, and if chapter members know you and can vouch for you. They might look to fill certain gaps in their chapter in terms of majors, activities, or a variety of other factors. It's not always about looks -- I've seen top chapters at CU take very average looking girls. Just go into recruitment looking your best self and with a friendly, sincere attitude. Look your recruiter in the eye, smile, and have a pleasant chat. Don't take it personally if you get dropped by a particular chapter, because your recruiter probably liked you as well, but other factors were at play.
