Greek life in boulder is pretty relaxed but is still a big part of life here, it’s a great way to meet new people and get involved in the community & also add more fun events to your life! There are pretty clear tiers in Greek life for the sororities, but there all great in their own ways. The top sororities (Alpha Phi and Pi Beta Phi) have the most attractive, “cool girls” who usually are very social. There’s a stereotype on Greek rank that the girls in these houses are mean, but I think it’s because they can be very intimidating and a lot of girls who get dropped from them during rush don’t like them. There are some girls who are rude, but that’s the same for every sorority. Delta Gamma and Chi Omega are considered upper mid tier and are also good sororities that are fairly popular and social but tend to be a little more lowkey and have more regular girls. They’re still pretty cool and socialize with the frats a lot. Theta, Kappa, and Gamma Phi Beta are solidly middle tier sorority, which means that they still are social and cool but are definitely far less intimidating than other houses. I don’t know too much about them but they seem to have strong sisterhoods and the girls I know in these three houses love them for the most part! They have a very chill vibe. Tri Delta and Alpha Chi Omega are considered bottom houses here, no hate but they don’t have very selective pledge classes and so you tend to get a lot more weird girls in this sorority. They don’t have much socialization with the frats. I know one or two girls who didn’t end up getting the house they wanted during rush so they went to one of these houses instead. Definitely some cool girls here too. People prefer AXO over DDD. I don’t know anything about Phi Mu and in my opinion they are still so new to campus that they don’t really have a reputation yet! Sorry this is so long I don’t have anything else to do in Quarantine LOL

in complete agreement with the first response’s description and explanation of the vibe of sorority life at CU. Honestly, I think all the girls who survive rush and receive a bid all find their place and are happy to be part of Greek life at CU. It’s a great school to be involved in Greek life.
Here’s the most real and accurate rank summarizing the tiers without all the detailed descriptions of the kinds of girls who are in each chapter:
TOP Tier / THE Most Desirable & Most Competitive and Most Selective to get in:
APhi / PiPhi
MIDDLE Top Tier / Somewhat Competitive to get in:
DG / ChiO
Middle LOW Tier / Not as Selective or Competitive to get in:
Kappa / Theta / GPhi
BOTTOM Tier / Non-Competitive to get in:
AXO / Tri Delta / Phi Mu
No hate directed at any of these houses or the girls in them. Actually, everyone in all of the houses — no matter the ranking or tier — have a great time being part of their sorority and should be proud!

CU is a wonderful place to go to school, and I don't think you would regret coming here. Boulder in general is a very fun town. CU is a very social school, and has often appeared on national lists for top party schools. Every weekend you will hear about 3-4 parties, on campus or off. Dorm life is great (particularly the co-ed dorms.) People go out during the week as well. If you like winter sports, or rock climbing, rafting, etc., you can always find a sociable group of like-minded friends who will be willing to share your adventures. Greek life is relaxed and can definitely add to your enjoyment. Be like most CU students -- get the job done with school, enjoy your free time, and you will eventually have your pick of jobs and grad schools.
