incoming freshman advice
by: QuestionHi!! I recently decided to attend CU Boulder next year and I am so excited to rush! I’m out of state and don’t know anyone who is in Greek life at CU. I was wondering how it compares to Greek life in the south (all of my friends are attending SEC schools). Also, I have family members who were in a sorority that I don’t think I would really fit in- should I still put them down as legacies it will that hurt my chances at other houses?

id say that being in Greek life at a southern school is way more necessary to have a social life than at cu, people in Greek life here tend to hang out with anyone rather than just the other frats or sororities that they mix with. frat parties are open to pretty much any girl so you definitely don’t have to be in Greek life to party. however it’s still a great way to make friends and meet people! in my opinion for sororities at least, Greek life is more relaxed and accessible and the girls involved are more chill. legacy isn’t thaaaat important for the houses here, and I don’t think that putting down your legacy status will hurt your chances during rush if you want another house! good luck and trust the process :))
