letters of rec?

In my opinion they aren’t important, if you want to submit them go ahead but they aren’t going to make the difference between you getting into a house or not.

They aren’t really important in my house. Last year the only time a letter really made a difference was with one girl who didn’t really make any impression on the girls she talked to first two days (if I remember correctly she basically just didn’t talk to them, clearly nervous) but she had a really wonderful, heartfelt rec letter from someone who clearly knew her very very well so we kept her in hopes that she would open up more. If the letter had been more generic or if the issue was with grades/rudeness we wouldn’t have kept her. So not very important in the end, but if it is a very personal/heartfelt letter it could help?
