As of February 16th, 2018, the Sorority Extension twitter page lists CU as open for extension.

Any and all NPC groups not currently on campus now have the opportunity to mail CU an extension packet of information toward a new colony. Normally on a large campus between 3-5 groups will be invited to make a presentation; CU could probably handle two new colonies as formal quota and chapter total are exceedingly large.

We’re definitely getting a new chapter next year and they would be bottom tier. New chapters always start out bottom tier

not to be rude, but I know girls like you. the kind of girl who dropped recruitment after getting dropped by all the top tier or upper middle tier houses. I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but the new house will be bottom tier and if you want to join, you’re gonna be bot tier. maybe you’ll join the top tier houses in a year or two tho!! good luck :))))

Just like the current bottom tiers, new sororities take everyone. They can’t be selective because they’re trying to fill their house, or chapter I guess, since there is no house. New houses stay bottom tier for at least a year or two when then they can recruit a lot of girls and become more well known on campus. If you’re expecting this new house to come on campus and just become top house, you’re delusional. It’s like opening a new business, at first they’ll be unknown and getting few people, but in a year or two they could be the most popular house on campus. Who knows? And honestly what you said about having an open mind is true. Nobody here really has an open mind since the rankings have been essentially the same (within tiers changes by year) for decades. I wish the new chapter good luck though because since they will be bottom tier, and may have difficulty being accepted on campus.

Sororities never take everyone, not even a new colony. How would the pages of greekrank look if they did? No one would be ranting against homes that didn't take them!

New colonies CAN be and ARE selective. In at least two different campus situations this year, 500+ women were interviewed for just over 200 bids toward new NPC colonies.

The CU panhellenic women deciding which group(s) eventually colonize will undoubtedly look very closely at which NPC presenters have the necessary status, finances, and alumnae strength near campus to make their new colony strong and viable. I do not believe they will ask a small NPC group to colonize, nor a group that does not traditionally have campus housing.
