already on the outs

Does anyone feel like they are already a step behind in rush. I am coming to CU this Fall as a Frosh and have connected with a lot of girls on Insta and it seems like there is already a huge group of girls who know each other and hang out at the festivals.
Most are from Ca or Chicago and they all seem to already know they will be going pi phi and have a ton of friends in the house. It's like they have a guaranteed bid to the best house a month ahead of rush. I know there are other houses and I will keep an open mind, but I feel like bids have already been given out to some girls and I don't have a chance because I don't have the same connections. Anyone else feel this way - thanks for letting me vent.

You just got slapped across the face with reality my friend. Ur 100% correct that some girls are shoe-ins for pi phi. They come from the wealthiest parts of California, and already have so many friends in the house. This is part of what makes pi phi top. Guys love rich cali girls, and that is a large portion of pi phi. Connections get you wayyy further than merit in anything. U sound like you are rushing the wrong way because you are upset that you might not get in to the so-called "top house". I hate to break it to you but Pi phi probably takes 100 new members, and there are gonna be over 2,000 girls rushing. If you focus your efforts on getting to know ALL the houses during rush, you are gonna be a lot more happy than "only wanting Pi phi, DG, or Chi-o" and getting cut from those houses because that is what every single girl is thinking.

Yeah I have a feeling most these girls that are already hanging out are from Cali and are gonna go Pi Phi. TBH don't get bummed about it guys only like to screw Pi Phi's and they're only here maybe to party in the long run a different top house would suit you better
