houses can go up and down for different reasons: hazing (doesn't seem to happen anymore but has in the past), academic and social probation probation , which can affect the type of girls they recruit etc. If a house has low grades they might have to take girls with higher grades that they wouldn't have taken otherwise (DG 2011).
chi o has changed in the past few years. didn't used to be a "top house". pi phi has always been the same.
