Are tighter dresses looked down upon for like preference night? I'm rushing as an out of state Fresh so I don't really know what to wear

Yes!! Try to stay away from super tight dresses

If the dress is tight fitting, but is longer in length and overall looks more classy than hoochymama-ish then go for it.
If you are still doubting it, pick a new one.
