Alpha Phi - ΑΦ Sorority at University of Colorado Boulder - UCB 2.0 I am an employee at Flatirons Mall in Broomfield, Colorado. Tonight a group of girls wearing Alpha Phi sweatshirts came into our store 4 minutes before we closed and proceeded to shop for the next 30 minutes. While in the store, the girls were extremely disrespectful and messed with the clothes, left them unfolded, dropped shirts on the ground, and were extremely rude to our cashier when we said we didnt have Apple Pay. We reminded them several times that our store was closed and they needed to stop shopping, but they blatantly ignored us and trashed the clothing that we had out on display. After checking out, one of them continued to look through the t-shirts and leave them in different places or on the ground. We asked if they needed help finding sizes because they weren't allowed to be in the store and they ignored us again. As someone who is apart of greek life, it was very disheartening to watch these Alpha Phi girls go in public, WITH THEIR GREEK LETTERS ON, and be disrespectful. Another customer witnessed this and commented on how those girls single-handedly ruied their opinion of Alpha Phi. It was embarrassing to watch these girls be so rude and disrespectful while showing off that they were Alpha Phi members because it set an example of what this sorority is known for; stuck up, entitled, rude girls.

Alpha Phi - ΑΦ Sorority at University of Colorado Boulder - UCB 2.7 A Phi is full of very rude women that only care about looks and social status. If you are rushing this coming fall don’t let their popularity fool you they don’t care about true sisterhood, they care about looks. They have recently been called out because of racism and the extreme lack of diversity. While during rush i was paired with an extremely rude girl who gave me very degrading looks and made me feel horrible about myself, this almost made me drop. While in line for rush a girl who is now in A Phi was pestering me about my darker skin and insisting I was lying about my race. Yes there are some bad apples in every batch but these are the types of girls that are in A Phi and the behavior they let slide. There’s other sisterhoods at Boulder that are much more accepting and loving.

However, I believe they only did that because it came to the eye of the public. They have been cowards during this time; they turned off comments on their posts because they couldn’t deal with people calling them out on their privilege; they’ve deleted posts; they didn’t post anything until people called them out, and even then, it was defensive and obviously just something to cover them up and not because they care. Sure, they have a few POC in their sorority, but they never embrace any diversity. They only show tall, skinny, white girls on social media. The girl the recently kicked out just shows the type of people they recruit. They only care about their reputation, not about the members.Of course, there are some incredibly kind-hearted girls, but the organization as a whole disgusts me.

A top sorority for a reason, they have the smartest, prettiest, nicest girls who go above and beyond for their philanthropy. As a non sorority girl that’s definitely the one to rush. Don’t be too quick to judge, and don’t let stereotypes cloud who they really are. A fantastic group of classy women. The best at CU.
