how competitive is sorority rush

Currently looking at colleges and want to join Greek Life. How competitive is sorority rush at UC? I hear horror stories of rush at schools like Indiana but haven't heard anything about it here. Also, how important are rec's and does legacy play any part in rush?

Idk about “competitive” but Greek life isn’t as crazy here as it is down south or more “preppy” schools. There definitely is a “top tier” (kappa theta tridelt) and they might be selective with certain qualities

Rush is definitely super laid back at UC not "competitive" or "uptight" like a lot of schools can be!

If you're interested in joining greek life, don't go to UC. Pretty meaningless honestly. Way too many people thinking they're way hotter and cooler than they are. Don't get me wrong there's huge egos in every school's greek system, but its more bearable at a school where the chapters aren't all painfully average. Also do yourself a favor and pick a school where you won't get robbed at gunpoint as soon as you step off campus
