can we talk about the mr. u scandal?

DU won Mr. U. The whole scandal is this---
1) Theta didn't want DU to win Mr. U because of the whole scandal that happened first quarter (even tho they voted to let them compete)
2) DU won the whole competition by donating a bunch of money
3) Theta was extremely mad about it
4) Theta, after the event, was being extremely unprofessional and hostile towards DU (not congratulating DU or even giving them the winners prize of a paid night at Y-Bar)
5) Theta offered to give back DU's money ($16,000+) so that they can take the title away from DU and give it to FIJI.
6) This arrangement and the whole way Theta dealt with the whole event made some of the upperclassmen at Theta become really mad about the whole environment surrounding the sorority and in the end, de-affliated with the chapter.

What should be noted is that the people who were against DU winning was a small minority of the chapter (mainly upperclassmen who had it against DU for a while now, even before the whole scandal of first quarter), and that the majority of the chapter didnt really care about DU winning (many of the first years didnt really have a preference).

1) That's pretty accurate, but there was probably a bit more nuance to it. Theta was super polarized over the issue and I'm pretty sure the whole thing still hasn't been fully resolved.

2) Most of the sorority events are dumb and should be more accurately portrayed as "let's see who can raise the most money so we can look popular and charity is a positive side effect"

3) DKE got snubbed
