What's Hot - University of Chicago - UC

Parties are crowded and the house is extremely small, but the brothers seem to get along extremely well and seem to enjoy each other's company. Some played sports, but they're chill even with Ultimate Frisbee and FIFA.

While they do have extremely attractive brothers, most are here because of their participation with the football team which make them slightly out of place at uchicago. Some are down to earth and great but others are complete douchebags, coming from a top-tier sorority girl. Their parties need work and their brotherhood needs work. Honestly, they could still find people that could fit in if they diversified. Mixers with FIJI are usually horrible.

Their class and attractiveness exists from the massive wealth that the current brothers are accustomed to from their families. While they are a tight-knit group of guys with a far off group of conjoined apartments, this will change soon to make it more integrated with campus. They are nice, but start to seem shallow if you spend enough time with them.

Rumor has it the fraternity desperately throws many parties (that mostly freshmen attend) to attract na?ve freshman rushees early on before they realize the true reputation of the house, and because the fraternity is going broke. The brotherhood is practically non-existent after the first year (which defines their house, first-year central). Once you get over the fact that they throw parties and consume alcohol, which is typically watered down beer and mediocre punch.

They are a good and tight-knit fraternity that historically seems to do its own thing. While this is a place to play beer pong any day and any time of the week, their house could definitely use work and many of their parties could greatly be improved, given the space available. That being said, they are fun and cool to be around, drunk and not drunk, but many within their brotherhood are socially awkward.

Arrived last winter w/ inaugural class of >40 men. Disorganized 1st yr led to ~1/3 dropping in first few months, another 1/3 at start of next school yr. Now have ~20 guys. (I was a "pledge" who defected) The ones who remain = genuinely best of the original bunch. Not much popularity, overall not the most skilled with girls (or sororities), but still great guys. Sadly frat is a sinking ship. Much hope at one point, but recruitment was too little too late, & Greek community has left them behind..

Theta's fall pledge class this year is full of some of the sweetest girls I've met. They seem to get kind of a bad rap, but to an outsider, their sisterhood seems really strong, and the girls seem to love each other. That's what sororities are really about!

One of the top tier frats at uchicago. If you want to find dudes who are down to drink at anytime of the day, this is where you should be.

Bar Night is effectively a UChicago institution. It's definitely improved since last year - even midterm weeks it's kinda packed now, and they're playing better music, tbh it's the best way to spend Wednesday night. Gives a different atmosphere to their own and other frats' weekend parties - Bar Night (obviously) tries to mimic a "bar" atmosphere (i.e. chill with your friends over some brews, dancing not necessary etc.) as opposed to other parties which try to be like regular house parties.
