spring rush vs fall rush for sororities
by: sororityHello! So, I am a first year thinking of doing spring recruitment at a sorority, but I've been hearing a lot about how competitive it is. Should I bother going through with it, or should I just wait until next fall? I know people say go just to make friends, but honestly, it sounds pretty awkward to meet someone, get dropped from their sorority, and then see them in classes/on campus. Reply to Topic

The level of competitiveness really varies by chapter, and there's an excellent chance that you getting dropped by a chapter can very well mean they still liked you even if they couldn't offer everyone they liked a spot, and the exact same thing happens during fall recruitment too. Rushing during fall doesn't make you any less likely to get dropped from a house then rushing during spring. You might as well go for it now if any chapter(s) you like are participating in spring rush. The benefit of waiting until fall is if you don't know which chapters you're interested in and you want to check them all out.
