So Cal has a few "secret societies". One of these is a drinking club called Sons and Daughters. It is a club only the top frats and sororitys are privy too, and only a special number of junior and seniors at that. Seniors (men and women both) wear white dress shirts while juniors wear blue. Each house (listed below) was originally given five ties. When the seniors graduate, they offer their tie to an up-and-coming junior. If rejected (because this is a heavy drinking club, and you know whether or not you can handle it), the house loses a tie. Eventually, if all ties are lost, the house no longer has sons or daughters.
sons: DKE, Beta, Zete, FIJI
daughters: Chio, Pi Phi, Kappa, ADPi

This is incorrect kappa does not have ties and DG does. Each house began with 6 and houses have lost ties over the years (kappa lost all of theirs) currently DG has 5 in each grade, adpi and chio each have 4 and pi phi has 3

are there any real benefits to these secret societies? doesn't seem like it if no one in kappa is part of it and a fake top sorority like dg and mid tier sororities like chi o have them lmao

I agree with "uh." Most Kappas are already born with the wealth and connections they need to succeed in life. They don't need to drink themselves to death to gain questionable "connections" that most likely offer marginal rewards. I'm willing to bet that the sisters in these "secret societies" are mostly middle class and upper middle class, and that none of them are upper class.

Also, you pretty much know those societies are a joke by looking at the girls in them. All of them look beat and act empty headed.

As a Daughter, I just want to clear up any confusion, and you're wrong on all accounts- wealth, connections and empty headed-ness.
Daughters is one of the most fun things to be invited to on campus and I am sorry you were not selected. Without giving anything away, I can say if you are lucky enough to be picked, it is an honor and you'll have your cohorts backs for life. It is more than just drinking.

dg and a phi used to be in daughters too but unfortunately lost their ties a long time ago
