Not true, check your sources. The physical house is no longer considered AOII due to a dispute with internationals, but the Cal chapter is alive and well--and definitely not getting kicked off campus.

Ummm, no. They're still recognized by their international. There is a property dispute, don't be an idiot.

Hey, this might be old news to you all, but I just heard about this and scrolled back to find out more. What exactly happened to AOII last semester and what was the property dispute? Did another group move into their house, or is it vacant?

Anyone? Would love to hear what the scoop is...

Bear is correct. The chapter is an active recognized chapter by their international. However their international owns all the AOPi chapter houses centrally and wants to do the same with the Berkeley chapter house. The local Corp board who bought and paid for the Berkeley house do not wish to turn over ownership to their international for a number of reasons that they feel would disadvantage them. So their international is no longer recognizing the chapter HOUSE...the bricks and mortar facility, as an official AOPi facilty. Consequently their international says they cannot hold official AOPi functions like meetings or initiation there. As a result AOPi is holding their meetings on campus and their initiation ceremonies elsewhere. The house is still occupied by AOPis

How is this not true? The details of this dispute is posted on AOII's nationals website.

So what's in store for AOII's house? Are the owners going to keep it and rent it out to members like an apartment? Or is another chapter moving in? It seems pointless for a sorority's housing board to own a house but not be able to use it as an actual sorority house.

AOII's alumna are apparently trying to resolve their housing management with their national HQ. If it isn't resolved soon, I imagine the house will be leased to another Greek organization.

I feel bad, I probably wouldn't want to join a sorority that doesn't have a house
