frat/sorority ratio
by: DudeWhy are there so many fraternities and like half as many sororities at Cal? It doesn't make sense.

Housing is hella expensive in Berkeley and a small sorority would be pushed by their nationals to make numbers or close. Sororities have a quota they're supposed to be hitting. It's not a big deal if they're a little short. But a significantly smaller sorority or a sorority with a crappy/far away house isn't going to be competitive. I'm not saying it's better just telling you why it is.

Why? Wouldn't it be better if we had the same number of sororities, even if they were a little bit smaller?
