what's the hype?

Just went to greek carnival last night and saw most of the houses but I'm having a hard time understanding why KKG & PiPhi are considered "top" houses. Honestly, the girls there didn't look put together nor attractive whatsoever. Can someone legit explain this to me?

I didn't find yesterday useful at all. The houses were busy keeping to themselves or to other greeks and not freshmen, like myself.

I totally agree about Pi Phi. It was incredibly awkward and I was honestly disappointed because I wanted to like Pi Phi.

Honestly the Greek carnival is just to encourage girls to sign up for recruitment. The best way to get a feel of the sororities is to visit each house during recruitment. It is luck of the draw on who you talk to and if you will click :/ good luck!

Unfortunately rankings are mostly based on looks. I personally do think that kkg and pi phi girls are gorgeous, but that doesn't mean they're the best. Maybe you have higher standards or maybe all the"attractive, put together" people graduated/left

both kappa and piphi are full of 5s but once youre settled in Berkeley for at least 3 months youll think kappa and piphi are 8s and 9s

honestly alot of top houses are falling in reputation because their past habits of recruiting for looks instead of personality have caught up with them and the people are awkward. but other houses like chi o who recruit chill, down to earth ppl or alpha phi who recruit sarcastic, funny real ppl are rising way faster and over taking them
