strictness of berkeley bars etc

Is it easy to get into bars around campus with a fake or do they check closely? Are some places more lenient than others? Sorry this is totally unrelated to Greek life

Pretty strict, tbh. At least in my experience. It's a college town so they expect people to be using fake ID's. Have had better luck with a real ID from an older sister or friend than with a fake, though I know people who have used them successfully I also know a few who have gotten caught (sometimes multiple times).

way easier to get into bars and clubs in the city than it is in berkeley

I've seen so many people get caught, especially during the first few weeks. I would wait to use them in the city. DO NOT try to get into Kip's

Is it really that bad at Kip's? I used a fake to get in there over the summer and they barely looked at it

Only hard the first few weeks of school then you should be solid. Just warning newbies who just got a fake over the summer and want to try it out lol
