I am a spring 2015 admit so I will be a 'sophomore' in the fall. Do a lot of sophomores rush? Will it be weird not being a freshmen?

Rushing as a sophomore is really hard, but it probably would help that you were admitted later than the fall. Honestly at least 3 or 4 houses will drop you the first day which sucks. But you shouldn't be interested in a house that would make decisions about you over something so stupid - it can be hard to make friends when you rush as a sophomore also because the people your age have already made friends and you aren't doing the same stuff as freshman. But if you feel confident in your ability to reach out to people and can handle getting some rejection, go for it

So they would drop me just because I wasn't a freshman? And when you say I wouldn't be doing the same stuff as freshmen do you mean outside of the sorority? Thanks for your honesty!

Some houses might drop you because you're not a Freshman, the cuts can be pretty hefty for some of the houses on the first day. However, for the vast majority of houses? Being a Sophomore is not a problem. Just be prepared for getting cut from some houses, take a deep breath and keep going. A house that is cutting people based on their year probably isn't a house you want to be in anyway. You're going to be fine. Just keep an open mind and stick it out, a lot of people get discouraged by the first day cuts drop out of rush and regret it. Rush is super stressful for everyone and I promise you the girls on the other side are just as nervous as you. I rushed as a Sophomore and I love the house I ended up in, had no trouble making friends, and am super close still with my pledge class even though some of them are younger than me.

Is it better to wait to rush as a junior then? Since its a different quota

Honestly, why wait the extra year? If you want to go greek just rush. There's no garuntee you'll end up anywhere different as a junior.

I'm pretty sure you're still considered a freshman. You're not a sophomore until you've had two semesters under your belt.

I mean I rushed as a sophomore, and even though I did get dropped by a couple houses on the first day just because I wasn't a freshman I still ended up joining a house, living in, and finding my best friends there. Also there were a LOT of sophomores and juniors rushing when I went through, it is mostly freshmen but you definitely won't be the only older one.
