sorority comments

I don't know about rivalries but similar houses compete for similar girls during rush:
-Kappa and Pi Phi
-SK and APhi
-ChiO and ADPi
-AOPi and AXO
-Theta and GPhiB
DG and Tridelt are sort of in between and not really compared to another house often for that reason.
SK and APhi are both stereotyped to have catty girls too, so that is where the rivalry idea might have come up.

All of the houses are great. Some houses are better choices for certain girls than others based on what they are like, but all houses have something going for them. No house is "not worth joining!" please remember that. They are all the same type of organization after all: sororities. Houses all have a certain personality overall, that is true, but there are so many diverse girls in every house. Make an effort to go into recruitment with an open mind and choose the house you think you would fit in with the most.

Here are some positives and negatives about each house:

KKG
+ reputation as the "top house," beautiful house on the row, beautiful girls, really rich with great connections
- having to live up to being a top tier sorority girl and being scrutinized, quite a few stuck up, snobby girls

PiPhi
+ house on the row, hot girls that party hard, reputation as a top sorority, really rich with great connections
- reputation as the rudest of all sororities (may be the reason they hardly ever wear letters), stuck up, snobby and catty girls, hazing rumors going around about the house

DG
+ reputation as a top sorority, girls are cute, sweet and down to Earth, really rich with connections, great apparel (wear letters a lot)
- more low key than the other top houses, house not on the row, being criticized for being considered a top house that is not that hot

ADPi
+ nice and relaxed girls, cute cottage house on the row, a lot of diversity, wins Arrowbands a lot because there are many dancers, high GPA
- girls tend to be less involved/visible, not very prominent in the party scene, hazing rumors

AOPi
+ cute and sweet girls, diverse and well-rounded, high GPA, gorgeous house
- less visible in the party scene and less involved, reputation as boring, house is far uphill

AXO
+ cute and sweet girls, hardly anyone can think of something bad to say about them/no rumors, said to have one of the strongest sisterhoods
- really uninvolved and not very visible in the party scene nor on campus (never see AXO letters), thought of as boring, house not on the row

When it comes to attractiveness

There's not as much difference as the tiers make you think, to be honest.

GENERALLY (by no means does that include all members!!!) this is what the houses can be described as:

Hot
KKG, PiPhi

Still pretty hot, but not so much (not as blonde, more girls who aren't that good looking)
SK, APhi, DG

Cute or pretty but not necessarily hot
ADPi, AOPi, ChiO, AXO

Slightly less cute, but still ok
Tridelt

Meh. Still above average on the Berkeley campus by far, but not as cute as the other house, very few hot girls
Theta, GPhi

i agree those are the reps on the houses in general, but in my experience, those are stereotypes, sometimes with little relation to reality. if for example theta suddenly got an amazing pledge class with all hot girls, people would still try to pin theta as bottom. "always has and always will be," to effect. what im trying to say is the reputations of the houses have become incredibly pigeon-holed. the hold the reputations have on the sororities at cal is in at least some cases stronger than the reality.

You couldn't be more right. The "top frats" assume that houses X, Y, Z are th hottest because they've been that before, not even considering the others regardless. GPhi and Theta could getter hotter pledge classes than Kappa and Pi Phi, theoretically, and they probably still wouldn't change their preconceptions about the houses. Sad, but true. ADPi and ChiO's good reputations makepeople rank them higher thanAOPi and AXO, when in reality there is title to no difference there.

Seriously shut up with this stupid analysis. You're in a lower tier or middle tier sorority. Just accept it. If you actually didn't care about rankings you wouldn't come on this RANKING website complaining about how the system is biased etc

id like to know why you are so defensive. kind of seems like you have a dwindling reputation to defend. if you were truly confident that the rankings were completely accurate and unbiased you wouldn't find it so necessary to jump to their defense (and come off so rude in the process). just sayin :)
