I don't know about the other sororities, they're not important

People need to stop saying that half of the sororities don't even matter! They might not matter to some "top" frats who don't know better but to say that they don't matter, but as for the rest (the big majority of frats here) they do matter. And for half of all PNMs they certainly matter as well because they are going to end up getting a bid from one of these houses. The ladies in the 6 houses that you say "don't matter" are awesome. Most have great personalities and are cute girls. There are also some amazingly gorgeous girls! And during recruitment, most girls can't tell if their rho chis are in these houses or in the ones that "matter." So please, girls in the higher half of sororities here need to get over themselves and realize they are just not that much better than girls in lower houses.

I think the only reason why people on here tend to say only top houses matter is that mainly people from these houses go on here as they tend to be more ranks obsessed than lower houses, some of which couldn't care less.

It is not like all PNMs care about is hooking up frat douches. Neither do all aspire to date one of them. If a guy turns a girl down just because of which house she is in, he's not the kind of guy you want to date.

The truth is that girls on the lower/mid houses don't care about rankings because the important thing for them is their sisterhood. The attractive girls in these houses have no problems getting into parties and probably enjoy being in their houses more because there is less pressure. The top houses care so much about these rankings because for them it validates the fact that they joined a top house and they're hot, even if they maybe aren't as happy with their house as they could be. PNMs should focus on finding the house that fits them, because you can forget about these rankings all together if you're part of a well-rounded house. That's why the middle houses are so mixed with ratings- because they have a huge mix of hot girls and less hot girls with decent personalities or great personalities.

Please DO NOT compare girls in lower and mid houses to the poor. It's distasteful. A lot of the girls couldn't be happier we're they ended up and wouldn't switch houses for anything in the world. So no, they would not strongly prefer to be in upper houses. Some might and they're gonna be bitter about it and probably end up quitting. But he many girls quit really? Not that many. Actually, I know more girls who quit upper houses than lower ones.

In case you don't realize, he/she was saying its a similar mindset, not comparing girls in lower tier houses to the poor. And we get it, you're in a lower tier house. Seems like you're a bit insecure about it yourself considering how much time youve expended saying that ranks don't matter...ON A RANKING WEBSITE

So what are the stereotypes of each house? Like what do people generally think each house is like? I feel like this is important to know before rush when you have to decide which house's letters to wear and what reputation comes with it. I also heard some houses are really fake during rush to make you think they're different than they really are.

please do not worry about stereotypes. it's berkeley. everyone is nice and usually the "stereotype" of each house only applies to half or less of the girls in the house so just go through rush and find one that you feel comfortable with/you'd like to party with (since that's most of what you do). you can read through their comments on the left but if you do, read ALL of them so you can tell what's fake and what's not because they're are ALOT of rumors on this site started by a couple girls in one house to get themselves to the top/look better so just don't believe a lot of what you read.
