sorority comments

what is self ranking? i'm considering rushing in the fall, but is that a term for something sororities really do or is it referring to the rankings on this site?

I'm a sophomore planning to go into Fall rush next semester, will it possibly hurt my chances?

What race are you? That apparently makes all the difference here...

But in reality, yes, you'll get cut from some houses that primarily take freshman, houses like Pi Phi, DG, and Kappa usually have an all-freshman pledge class. that being said, you shouldnt be discouraged. Even the bottom houses can provide you an excellent Greek experience if you're looking for sisterhood, to make lasting friendships, to get involved/win philanthropy events, etc. They also party/have multiple exchanges, but theyre usualy with middle/lower tier fraternities.

At lower houses: Theta/DDD/GPhi, your race will make no difference. If your top house is one of those 3, or AXO/AOPi/ADPi, then you have a fair shot. Just look nice, behave appropriately, dont bash any other houses, smile, and be gracious, and dont ask to use the bathroom at any of the houses you want to join.

can someone explain to me the rumors behind ADPi's hazing? last time i heard they were middle/upper-middle tier. when did this start/what happened?

There's a noticible difference in the level of attractiveness between these 5 levels and clear gaps between top, middle and bottom.

Most houses are respected, but top frats prefer the first tier.
