sorority comments

i heard that the new sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, isn't going to have a house. yeah seems strange but apparently the dues will be really low? which could attract a lot of people. i could be totally wrong but that's what i heard.

&i think the list below should be more

According to my sisters, ZTA will have a table set up somewhere. They will not be recruiting for fall recruitment, but instead explaining to PNM's that if Fall doesnt work out (if drop out, dont get a bid, etc) that they will be recruiting in the spring. They will be the ONLY sorority doing spring recruitment.

I'm sick of seeing comments accusing houses of self-ranking. Lots of people do it, but that's not my point. The point is that the way the ranking system works, it's obviously not going to come out to the exact order of popularity Cal students consider these houses to be. The criteria asked about, like involvement, makes Gamma Phi Beta higher on this list. It doesn't mean they're self ranking. It means BY THAT CRITERIA, they'd get some higher rankings. It's NOT an all-1 house even if people consider it bottom. Same with AXO and AOPi. Both of those houses are good in looks/personality, but the ratings don't account for the fact that people expect little from them, so the ratings get higher. Sure some of it IS self ranking, no denying, but a lot of times it's just the rating system, it's not always a house's fault.

There is a lot of negativity on this site. PNMs, just know there is something good that each house has to offer. Just because of that, I'm going to say what's good about every single house. Alphabetical order, no ranking. :)

Alpha Chi Omega: Beautiful house, strong sisterhood, sweet girls.
Alpha Delta Pi: Smart girls, great location.
Alpha Omicron Pi: Great personalities, pretty girls, spectacular house.
Alpha Phi: Great job with PR, great philanthropy.
Chi Omega: Great location, nice girls, cute too.
Delta Delta Delta: Great job raising philanthropy money, congrats on Derby Days.
Delta Gamma: Well-rounded women, athletic, convenient location.
Gamma Phi Beta: Great PR and involvement.
Kappa Alpha Theta: Biggest sweethearts, most accepting girls, convenient location.
Kappa Kappa Gamma: Beautiful girls, active in Greek community.
Pi Beta Phi: Pretty girls, good location.
Sigma Kappa: Cleaned up reputation, adorable house, very diverse.

WHO CARES HOW MANY MINORITIES a Sorority has? Making GPB the bottom house because there are a lot of minorities is DISGUSTING. I read a comment saying DG and AOPi are the same, but DG is ranked higher because they have 5% minorities and AOPi has 30% minorities... This is SO SAD. Pi Phi's section about admitting to only taking white girls. Even denying minority legacies. And ADPi having fallen beacuse they too have taken in minorities...

THE WORLD IS CHANGING. UC Berkeley's Demographics are changing, AND GUESS WHAT? The Greek system is going to reflect this. And its NOT A BAD THING.
