sorority comments

A lot of people say rankings depend on how white a house is. I don't agree completely, but ranking them from whitest:

Gotten most of my college admissions results, now waiting on Cal, I was wondering about the sororities here.. can anyone tell me if ADPi really hazes? If so what kind of hazing? Also, what are the Alpha Phi 'rules' I read about in the comments? What's the difference between the bottom houses?

Can someone tell me if it is true that you have less of a chance of getting picked when you are a sophomore or junior rushing? I heard that top houses automatically eliminate non-freshmen. Is that true?

I don't know about automatic, but I'd say at least 99% of upperclassmen don't get into the top 4. Don't worry too much about it though, the middle houses take some upperclassmen if they like them, and middle sororities still enjoy pretty good reputations. It's just the bottom houses that people have a lot of bad things to say about, if you're concerned about rankings. Just do fall formal and see what you like, don't stress!

last comment was about right. id also agree that at berkeley, the middle houses are mostly still considered pretty. also after the last few rushes, the gap between top and bottom has gotten smaller.. greek system has gotten better overall! so go through recruitment and see what you like, maybe read some reviews on the left to look for red flags if you want but its really more important to see who you connect with.

AOII is known to have picked it up because they're taking the more attractive/classy upperclassmen that get left behind by top houses.

Thanks!!! So, rushing as a junior would mean being prepared to join a bottom tier house, unless a mid tier house really likes you a lot?
