Kappa Kappa Gamma/Pi Beta Phi: your hollywood sorority types; blonde, white, exclusive, and kind of mean. Most say Kappa is higher... they have slightly better personalities, Pi Phis are known for being kind of rude.

Delta Gamma: People debate whether this is a top house or not, but it's generally respected. Less wild and does better in school than KKG/Pi Phi, but still relatively pretty.

Sigma Kappa/ Alpha Phi: These girls are "hot" -- wild partiers with bleach blonde hair and fake tans. Unfortunately known for catty personalities and trying too hard, particularly Alpha Phi. This keeps them out of the top, seeing as top sororities don't have to self promote.

Chi Omega: Some say it's the most unremarkable. Some are really nice, others are a bit catty but overall decent reputation. Somewhere in the middle.

Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Omicron Pi: These houses have prettier than average girls, but are overlooked because their houses are far. The girls are smart too, not as much as ADPi, but these houses have the cleanest reputations. Obviously with attractive women there is still drama, but they are better at dealing with it than other houses. Compared to each other they are about tied this year.

Delta Delta Delta: Known overall for being easy, but other than that very diverse house both in terms of looks and personality. Lots of minorities now. Some girls are very hot, some are very alternative/hipster, some are just weird. Some are super chill while others are very catty, it's almost like two separate sororities in one. Some claim they're dropping.

Kappa Alpha Theta, Gamma Phi Beta: The two bottom sororities, unfortunately ranked because of appearance. Gamma Phi gets flak for being diverse whereas the Greek system is primarily white. Theta just takes less attractive girls. However these girls do have a strong sisterhood and less drama, and Gamma Phi is actually far more involved the past couple years. Theta still is very low profile.

Listen up future fall 2012 PNMs. You want to join the following houses depending on what you're looking for:

KKG - If you can get in, you probably fit in well there. They are quite selective. Join if you want to be in the top house surrounded by rich, hot girls who are envied by many.

PiPhi - Join PiPhi if you are hot, wouldn't want to be associated with anything other than a top house. You can be stuck up here and fit right in.

DG - Join if you want to be around more relaxed girls who don't party that much but are still considered hot and associate with top frats.

SK - You'll like this house if you want to be around pretty/hot girls and be considered one as well. Be prepared for cattiness and competition though.

APhi - Become a APhi if you are ready to be in a house tying to reach top tier. Like SK, you'll be associated with hot girls who create drama and party with higher ranked frats.

Chi Omega - Become a ChiO if you want to be in a nationally strong house that is solid mid tier here. The house is on greek row so frats will know who you are while they don't think of ChiO as "hot." There's a mix of catty and nice girls so you'll find a niche here.

AOPi - Join AOPi if you want to be in a house that is considered to have sweet pretty/cute girls but don't make a name for themselves. Be prepared to be far from greek row and anything else.

AXO - Become an AXO if you want to be around sweet girls who are perceived as cute, yet don't party a lot. Their house is far too.

ADPi - Become an ADPi if you like to study and be around relaxed girls who don't care too much what others think about them. You'll be around nice girls who are plain looking and have a gorgeous house.

DDD - Become a tridelt if you are not the most attractive girl but like to party. Guys will think you're easy and want to party with you.

Theta - Become a theta if you want your sorority to be well-established nationally but considered a bottom house here. You'll find nice/sweet girls here who will accept you no matter what you look like.

GPhiB - Join GPhiB if you want sisters who are mainly minorities. Some girls in the house will be rude and others the sweetest girls you'll ever meet!

In the end, make your own decision! I'm just putting commonly understood info about the houses here, since many girls will want to know in advance what each of the houses is sort of like and what it means to be associated with these groups of girls.

Spring Rush (COB or Continuous Open Bidding) is one way to tell how popular a house is. It doesn't tell you about their rep, but just people's level of interest in it. I believe the houses that were big enough not to do COB this spring were Kappa, AXO, and Alpha Phi, but I'm not 100% sure. Pi Phi and AOPi were full enough that they didn't have to take new girls, but did spring rush anyway. Most of the spring pledge classes are okay though, I think the Greek system in general has been improving in quality.

I think I have seen "the girls are boring" under every house. Hahaha just because a sorority doesn't do anything involving YOU, doesn't mean they don't do anything. Most of them are pretty active, with the exception of the bottom few who don't party very much. I like how people who aren't even in the greek system, think they're qualified to make judgments about it. Gtfo, and go try to get a bid, instead of judging people you don't know
