sorority culture

by:

I'm considering rushing a sorority in the spring or fall. But I was wondering if it ever feels like a big obligation, or if it leaves you with a lot of choice and independence. Like do girls feel pressured to go out every week or is it pretty casual? My academics are my first priority and I'm wondering if I'd have to give that up in a sorority

my experience and those I know have not been pressured to drink or go out often. In fact, you'll always find people staying in and studying, and that's when you end up forming some deep relationships.

Although I do like to go out and drink, I would feel comfortable staying in. There is always the option to stay in the house and study or watch TV, and there are enough sisterhood events I am still good friends with girls who don't like to go out often. Probably varies from house to house though.
