Should I Drop My Sorority?

by: PNM

i did fall formal rush this semester, and i just don't feel like i click with my house. i tried going to all the events and exchanges and parties but i still don't have any friends in my sorority. i love being a part of greek life because i have so many things offered that i would not have if i were not involved but i just don't feel like i'm in the right house. i went through pledging recently but should i still continue with initiation? if i drop before initiation then i can still join another house. i want to consider joining a different sorority but have to wait until next year because i signed the MRABA but i also don't want to drop my sorority either because i'm a part of greek community organizations where you have to be affiliated in a chapter to be in the club. thoughts?

If you do not vibe with the sorority that you bid, you should resign before you are initiated. That way, you will be able to rush again, either formally or informally/COB. you will be a lot more savvy, going through recruitment a second time.

i kind of wonder how OP could go about this. could they hypothetically COB again for the house or rejoin at a different time if they went through with initiation? kind of sucks to be in that situation where you’re in too far deep and can’t COB for other houses until next year.
