suicide bid (single preference) is when someone doesn’t optimize their options and just ranks 1 chapter stating that this is the only one they’ll take. it’s considered risky since you’re basically saying it’s all or nothing, but houses won’t actually know if you put them down as your only option (apparently the program that the sororities use will put you in a different group as far as bids go so you’re not guaranteed it).
additionally, it’s pretty rare you don’t get your first option. it happens, but it’s not too common people get their second choice.
