“old row” houses?

Not sure what you mean, but my sister went to Alabama so according to that definition this is what I’d say:
“old row” (dke, zete, fiji): these houses have been top since the beginning of time, dominate numbers in secret societies (skulls, sons, etc.), very traditional in their frat values
sae - somewhere in the middle
“new row” (ka, phi psi): newer houses, more recently they’ve risen up the ranks, less traditional, culturally more liberal (big reason why they’ve become more popular recently compared to in the past)
imo one is not better or worse than the other, top srats go to both. Rush both and you’ll notice a strikingly different kind of people, I’m a girl so idk what rush is like but from parties the guys are pretty different.
