fall sorority rush as a sophomore?

by:

thinking about rushing for a sorority this fall but on the fence because of the $40 fee since it's a lot of money that i don't have but still really want to be in one. really concerned it might cause a financial burden upon me especially since member dues are also quite expensive. should i still rush with this concern? which ones accept the most sophomores?

At least half those who go through recruitment and join happily never considered joining. Soph is best year to go through. You have perspective
Over eighty percent stay for life and find both a supportive community as an undergraduate and lifelong friends and national network. Do it. It’s life changing in a good way.

I don’t think what year you are plays a very big role in recruitment unless you’re a senior (maybe junior but idk). Being a sophomore, you’ll have a more clear perspective on the houses you talk to and the girls in them which will make the process a bit easier. In regards to finances, most sororities have tons of scholarship opportunities you can apply for and will also help you come up with a plan if you communicate your concerns with them. It’s a rewarding thing to be a part of from my perspective, so I’d say just to think about whether you think I’d be worth it and beneficial for you :)
