why are there rankings?

Who do sororities/frats have rankings? I thought the whole point of Greek life was sisterhood/brotherhood? Do the rankings matter? What are they based on? Do ppl really judge by which house you're in?

Rankings/tiers don't really exist. It's all subjective. Some houses are better for certain things than other. All "frats" at Berkeley are lowkey compared to actual Greek schools. A bunch got kicked off campus for minor things because we live in a communist regime. If you're rushing try to find the house with bros/sisters that you gel with the most. If people judge you by what house you are in then they have low self esteem/problems valuing people and probably aren't worth associating with.
