what's the difference between top and middle houses?

Let me just say, as a girl, I don’t give a flying fuuuuck if you’re in a house that’s typically “hot” or whatever, if you’re weird and not attractive it doesn’t matter who you’re exchanging with. So many attractive guys that aren’t in frats (read: 90% of athletes) get way more attention. Why? It’s not about what house you’re in. If you have charisma and confidence the “hot girls” will like you. Don’t use a frat as your social crutch. If you can’t swing it by yourself being in a frat probably won’t help you.

It's also important to consider that Greekrank is full of self ranks. When you rush, you'll see and talk to your fellow rushees and actually get more of a feel of what the more popular houses are. If you see a lot of drama with houses being mentioned and argued a lot about where they rank, you can probably assume it's a self rank. Greekrank gives you a basic idea of what the houses are ranked, but that's really it.

In terms of hot girls, the top houses will exchange with top sororities almost exclusively. But, from APhi down to the bottom, all of those houses have more diversity in terms of who they exchange with. I agree with "Lol hi," but I do think that the athletes will still also hang with hot sorority girls because they actually will participate in their philanthropies and exchange with them, not just because they're attractive. If I were you, I would join a house that I was a good fit with, and would then work out and focus on myself to get noticed more by hot women. Believe me, there are plenty of people in the top houses that don't get any women, as this is Cal and not a state school. You can still pull from a middle house if you are an attractive guy, but if you are an average guy in a top house, it still won't work. Good luck with rush!
