sorority time commitment

by: ?

How much time do you spend on sorority activities/exchanges/events each week? Everyone tells me that "your experience depends on how much time you put into it," but that answer seems vague. Most people tell me it's a large time commitment even with only about one mandatory meeting each week. I just want to get a rough estimate on the amount of time people usually spend on greek life each week so I can plan accordingly and see if I want to do spring rush.

I have friends in greek life and be prepared for wine wednesdays, exchanges on tuesdays/thursdays, monday chapter meetings, in addition weekend parties. greek life is no joke like it takes up a lot of your time, but that is because you are a part of a community that has a lot to offer in diffferent areas. there are study hours and chapter lunches and dinners that help with focusing on academics and getting to know people. put then again it can just be how much you really want to put in, like you just want to do the bare minimum to remain active if you are looking to do other orgs, job, etc but if not you can dedicate howeever much you would like
