actual frat/sorority pairings?
by: RelationsWhich frats affiliate with which sororities (and vice versa)? Basically I was wondering about what the brother/sister frat sorority pairings were. People only tend to focus on the top tier, but I was curious about all tiers.

honestly yeah kinda.... I know that Pi Phi, Kappa and DG don't really do much with any other houses other than the ones they are "paired" with above. sad, i know, but over time the girls in these houses start dating / hooking up / hanging out with the guys in these houses and its hard as a social chair to plan anything with other houses because nobody is going to really want to hang out with different frats. and thats the honest truth from someone who has been in greek life at cal for years

How is SAE exchanging with all of these houses when their numbers have been so low over the past couple of years? They were a house that lost their letters and had couldn't add pledges or secretly recruited in very low numbers for like 4 straight semesters

numbers don't matter nearly as much as the type of people in the house. sae has cool dudes that girls in those sororities like hanging out with. quality over quantity

^ agreed. when SAE didn't have their letters, these sororities would just refer to them as "2722 Bancroft" (their actual address) instead of referring to them as SAE because everyone knows what the address meant. Kappa and Pi Phi never let SAE's loss of their letters affect anything...they have always been doing things with them the past couple of years anyways

Haha duh! That's why I said "i don't know too much about the "middle / lower tiers" but this is what I know from being in one of these houses"
I can't speak for a group I know nothing about / know nobody in. So, please, inform us all who the "middle" houses pair with! :)

That is pretty laughable that your friend would say that AXO and Theta usually have events with Sammies. AXO has more mixers with Sig Chi and Phi Tau

I agree Pi Phi seems to only like to hang out with unaffiliated frats like SAE, and Zete at the time, and especially FIJI. Sucks tbh and makes them seem elitist since they only associate with frats who are upper tier (whitest and the richest), and it is funny considering that these fraternities aren't even recognized by panhell and the univerisity.

How do we know these frats are the richest? Are their dues more expensive or is it just cause they're white?

This person is completely generalizing by calling them the "richest." I'm sure there are rich guys in every house...
And who are you to call them "elitist" based on who they are friends with? How rude. The fact that fraternities aren't recognized by the university pretty much has nothing to do with the quality and personalities of the men in these houses. There are some awesome, nice guys in every "unaffiliated" house.

Does this mean that these sororities will simply not affiliate or really take other frats that seriously?
