ragers?
by: SPRINGFRATBROThinking of rushing a frat in the spring, are there going to be any ragers outside the typically bid schedule. As much as I value the networking, brotherhood, and support, I think the social and party is quite significant when it comes to my decision. I am super interested in PIKE, KA, and Fiji, and wanted to get an idea who rages the hardest.

I think the way really?? put things is harsh but he brings up a lot of good points as to why there are bids, like if it was a free for all all the time it would stop people for feeling the need to pledge or pay dues, or even join greek life to access to social scene and benefits. sometimes it is also a security thing because people come from all over even outside the university to go to parties, and some people dont know that but it is an issue and it is also a safety thing to know who is accessing the house and what not. bids can also be for carry capacity of houses and what not. it is a whole lot of factors. yes at times it can be exclusive but it is for a reason you see?

Like the person above me was saying, security is a HUGE factor. People forget that people live in frat houses. It's not a night club, it's a house party. No house party is going to be open to anyone with a Cal ID because you don't want strangers stealing your things, for overcrowding, or drinking alcohol you bought for the guests you invite and actually know. So why is it expected to be different with frats?

will there really? because the rush events are on those days, and like you said i doubt they will throw on those days. can anyone clarify?
