official spring rush rank
by: sr18
this is coming from someone who's considered to be in an "upper mid" sorority, meaning my house does events with a wide range of fraternities. this is from my experience at cal for almost three years. but to be honest, there's cute, chill, fun, respectful guys in every house, so definitely just go about rush where you feel comfortable and get along with the guys; greek life is fun and worth it no matter which house you're in
UPPER TOP
ka, sae, zete
MID TOP
dke, sigma chi, fiji
UPPER MID
phi psi, dx, pike, ato
MID
aepi, chi phi, phi tau, tke, pi kap
LOWER MID
sig nu, chi psi, du, theta chi
BOTTOM
sig ep, sig pi, kdr, pi lam (i've never been to any of these, but i think this is where they'd go from checking others)

I'm in SNU so understand I may be biased
I also don't think we are better than Chi Psi, TDX, DU, and Theta Chi because we're apparently called "wild boys" on this site and the presence of cocaine in our house, or that we've "made moves" this semester.
I think we're better than chi Psi, TDX, DU, and Theta Chi because we're better than Chi Psi, TDX, DU, and Theta Chi
Leaving SNU out of it because I'm obviously biased. I'd switch up your lower mid and mid houses. I agree with your top and upper top. Don't know about Putting ATO that high either after most of their pledges dropping and being pretty quiet now for a couple of semesters maybe more but that's the only think I disagree with until your middle tier rankings.
I think that it's more like this:
Pi Kapp, Phi Tau, AEPI
Chi Phi Theta Chi
(After this, houses start to suck)
Chi Psi, TKE
DU, TDX
"Mid Tier" is a hard to describe tier and a lot of frats fall into this category. I certainly think of Pi kapp and Phi tau as the middle of the middle. But I look atChi Phi and Theta Chi as solid houses that are just under the middle of the middle so "lower mid". That being said, absolutely no one considers TDX middle, they're literally the bottom of the bottom and DU is kind of weird.

honestly, a girl's rank is definitely more trusted when it comes to rank, as a male's rank is always going to be biased, regardless of how hard you try to take bias out of it. it's just natural and bound to happen. with that said, i think sigma nu is a bit closer to theta chi. sigma nu's last pledge class was just a little awkward in my opinion, but it's still a fun house to go to from time to time.

And I'm gonna address one last thing in here because I'm getting tired of every post on his site being about SNU rising.
The reason we think we are on the rise isn't because of our social semester (I didn't even think it was good, there were like 3 parties that didn't happen), or because of other frats being on probation, it's because we have a tiny junior class. That means that when these graduating seniors graduate this semester, next year, we will have like 20 or more guys than we did this year. We have stayed relevant despite having a smaller house by virtue on some dope guys and ragers. Our disadvantage was that we were a smaller house. We're going to be a lot bigger. The same way theta chi went from being nothing to relevant because of back to back large pledge classes, we have a chance to go from relevant to well known for the same reason. Idk what "rank" that will put us in, but by most definitions, a significantly larger house is a rising house.

Just throwing this here for anyone considering rushing this semester. Original post says that there's cool guys everywhere, so just go with what fits, and I have to whole-heartedly agree. I have great friends all over this ranking (ka, sig ep, sigma chi, etc) and I've gotta tell you that I've had just as much fun at/with the "bottom" as I have with the top. Furthermore, I've literally never heard anyone actually in these frats talk about their relative "rank," so take most of this with a grain of salt. Also, I know people here dont seem to care, but also consider that while most of these dont come with strong reputations, dke and fiji do. There are people that will look at you different if you say you're in one. Food for thought.

I honestly think it's pretty lame that SNu is out here trying to defend their reputation. When has this ever been done on here? You guys are making yourselves look pretty whack on here: self ranking, arguing, and defending. Just stop. People are going to rush your house regardless, and you'll end up with the same type of guys you've gotten in the past. While there is mobility within the Greek system, it honestly takes years, even decades. As for now, enjoy being lower mid. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. You guys are fun to go to from time to time and all that should matter is your internal brotherhood.

one last thing, the upper houses usually stay within the same tiers, with little mobility. in exception of ato, we'll see how that goes. however, there has been quite some movement within the middle houses, both good and bad. the good: AEPi, Chi Psi, TKE. aepi stepped it up with their weekly wine wednesdays, and the guys are always good looking. chi psi got a really solid pledge class this past semester, most of them are pretty good looking, chill and fun. TKE is pretty diverse in a really good way and they have IFC president now, and their game days and parties were really fun, although got called on/in trouble like twice. As for the bad: SNu and Chi Phi. SNu was just awkward to go to this semester; i have never seen them try so hard to act like something they're not and their last pledge class had about 2 decent looking guys, but it was all kinda awkward. As for chi phi, their connections within the community were never strong, but continually decrease, and after this last pledge class, they definitely moved down, but still have a fair share of good looking men.

i think the reason people are coming after you guys isn't because of the logic you're using to justify why you're rising, but because people from your house have been all over greekrank this break putting so much effort into and caring about rankings. your analysis above speaks for itself
