looks like harvard is trying to ban private clubs

by:

Interesting battle brewing on the right coast about student membership in private clubs. Take a look on google to read more about the pro/cons. Legal battles should be epic though as some of these clubs have been around since the school was founded, are powerful due to alums and donations and control some of the most valuable real estate in Cambridge. Too bad the Cal admin isn't paying attention to what is happening in Beantown as it would be great if they took a similar stand here to try and promote change in the antiquated greek system and then perhaps houses would up their diversity game! Interesting times for sure!

Just read a few of the articles about the situation. What could be interesting though is if Cal admin took a stand (I know this isn't going to happen as they simply could care less about the greek system) it might be enough pressure to get some of the ossified/calcified NPCs to clean up their acts on the diversity front. I totally think the OP is on to something. I think our system will sadly die before it changes but if some outside force with power could instigate change then we might be leaders for change in greek life rather than members of a system that really is on 'death watch'.
