1 or 2 houses left
by: megA number of people seem to be down to 1 or 2 houses and are understandably concerned. I'm trying to figure out if this is an isolated issue or more widespread. If folks could post as to their status it would help us to understand the situation a bit better as the stories that have been posted so far are quite concerning.

If there are PNMs who have played by the rules and have no houses after tonight, their houses from today should be called and the PNMS should be manually added back onto a list for tomorrow. Then the PNM can decide what she wants to do. If there are houses refusing to take quota, there should be some consequences. It's hurting people and making the row look bad. Just saying.

There is a right way to do things and the wrong way. Jamming houses with high quota is not the right way imo. To those saying my concern for pnms is not real that is absolutely wrong. I am ashamed and feel terrible that pnms are subjected to what we call recruitment. My feelings about pnm treatment cannot be connected however to feeling's of great anger about being jammed again this year because we can't figure out how to manage our system. Everyone gets an opinion and this is mine. I speak for nobody other than myself except I know many others agee. Pnms should reserve judgement until they are on the other side of the door. Do you have any idea what it's like to cut over 95% day 1 with less than 10 min convo? Crazy and wrong imo.

Overall I believe there is ONE MAIN PERSON trolling on Cal's greekrank site making Cal look bad during recruitment, and that person seriously ought to take their multiple, years-long concerns beyond Cal's panhel to the NPC itself.
What good is making constant complaints about recruitment on an anonymous chatboard if the people and organizations in charge of same don't manage the official affairs of Cal's recruitment through this website?
TAKE YOUR CONCERNS REGARDING CAL'S RECRUITMENT DIRECTLY TO THE NATIONAL PANHELLENIC CONFERENCE. THIS SITE ISN'T OFFICIALLY IN CHARGE OF ANYTHING YOU ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT.

Here is the problem. I'll keep it as honest as possible.
PNM's do not want to join "bottom" houses, and a lot of low houses bid girls who should not be in the Greek System. THIS IS THE FUNDAMENTAL ISSUE. As a result, Cal's greek system is never considered "Full" because there is still space in bottom houses for members.
Bottom houses cannot release as many women because they cannot afford to be as choosy with the women they want. If you look at pre night, there are more girls going to parties at DDD and GPB than they are at Kappa or Pi Phi.
As a result, eveyone gets called back to most bottom houses consistently. Even if you try and drop bottom houses, unless you were very desired by top houses, you will get called back to bottom houses because they did not/cannot release you (if they want to maximize their pledge class size). Bottom Houses want/need full pledge classes, so they maximize their bid lists.
Come to bid day, a lot of girls who get bottom houses don't even go. As a result, day one bottom houses tend of have a smaller pledge class size than top houses because the girls actually want to be there. Additionally, a lot of girls in bottom houses don't realize they cant afford it, or realize its not for them. They drop, and the pledge class size gets even smaller. COB makes up for this, but not enough.
The best thing top houses can do is strengthen our overall Greek System and make the recruitment field more even for bottom houses. They can take in more girls.

I'm sorry @meg. You should definitely get some sleep. We all need it. Don't know why Panhellenic isn't doing its job and I know the quota issue is a sore subject. Hope you feel better tomorrow!
