social media going dark?

bump. This is totally crazy situation. Who the hell is watching for violations?????? I'm a Rho Chi and all the PNMs are asking me whether the social media from the houses is designed to send them messages that they should be paying attention to. WHAT IS GOING ON?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????

bump...somebody has to do something about this. It's embarrassing that chapters across the country can figure out how to run a recruitment but YET AGAIN we screw it up. To APhi please STOP posting instagram messages as it is totally messing with the PNMs. I am a RC and have been fielding calls about this ALL DAY. STOP PLEASE.

Its totally happening! She said she would signal me if she could and she did. She said she would do it each day I got asked back! How cool is that?

I think the RCs are checking this site so if you see or hear of any dirty rushing going on, post it. Telling your RC shouldn't cause a problem for you but I can see why you'd hesitate. Hoping suz is a troll.

Suz was in my group and she posted on here because she was afraid to say anything to our RC. At first she thought it was funny but then when we told her it was wrong she understood why it would not be fair to everyone. Why is the social media still not private? All the houses are doing something and it just doesn't seem right at all. Suz isn't going to talk to our RC because she is afraid of the strikes policy but I hope the people monitoring this recruitment shut down the social media because its wrong and totally not fair.

Can someone clarify all this? I hadn't seen anywhere or been told at any point that chapter social media had to be shut down during recruitment. I also looked through APhi's insta and don't see any examples of things that be considered signaling in their pics or stories but maybe I don't know what to look for. Also all of USC's chapters have posted continually throughout their recruitment so I'm not sure what y'all are saying about social media blackout. Genuinely confused as to where this rule came from so would be great if someone could provide context

I'd suggest reaching out to panhel. We are going to shut our social media down until this is over as we don't want to be accused of anything. What I heard about the signaling issue at APhi was that one of the people in a picture on Instagram had a prearranged look with a PNM who was a friend from HS and this was to let her know that she made it through to next round. If this is true its awful. I don't know anything about the USC situation as I'm not the OP but many schools do shut down social media. My sister is at Michigan and they just shut down theirs a week or so ago I think. They then post everything after recruitment is over as they take pictures each day through the week. I've tried reaching out to a sister who is a RC but she unfortunately can't speak with me so I just left her a message to look into this situation as PNMs are understandably upset and confused.

Come on its late. Don't ask us to do anything as we are tired. Its been a really long and stressful day. You guys are so so demanding.
