sorority rankings with reasons
by: Bears
This is my opinion, so feel free to disagree
1) kappa: tradition mainly. At this school, they could recruit trolls this fall and still be considered top
2) pi phi: should be top because people actually like them, but tradition kinda keeps them in 2nd/interchangeable with kkg
3) aphi: trophy wife house. Hot girls who love to party, what do you expect? Obvious social climbers, but good for them.
4) DG: as much as I'd love to put another house here, I wouldn't know which one. Def dropping so we'll see after fall recruitment
5) adpi: solid house, but girls can be shady. I'd rather have chi o here or at #4 but trouble with nationals means they'll probably be lame this next year
6) chi o: honestly awesome, I love these girls but they lost half their house and I heard their nationals will be controlling everything next year so we'll see
7) SK: solid middle. Equal amounts of chill and no chill put them right in the center. I feel like they're the same as adpi, but less classy... Idk def not better than chi o
8) DS: doing a good job and pretty active considering they're brand new and a local chapter so recruitment will be interesting
9) DDD: kinda wild yet lame, yet pretty respected still.
10) Zeta: personally, I think these girls are pretty fun when they're drunk and don't get enough credit. Feel free to disagree
11) Theta: thicc
12) Axo: cool girls but I feel like they're in their own world and they don't really go out or anything (outsiders perspective)
13) Gphi: idk

let's be real, you all have to base your sorority rankings on at least two years... kappa had a less than top recruitment, aphi recruited a top tier class, dg dropped, gamma had a gamma class... but who's to say that'll be the same this year? hold your judgments, until after this next ffr

I don't know why people didn't throw more shade at Kappa and DG last year after their rush results and people that dropped from upper classes during the yar? Why isn't there more honesty in terms of how people discuss the topic of sisterhood and social environment in the houses? As much as I hate to say it APhi looked more together than DG last year and in terms of overall strength in recruitment and sisterhood I have to hand it to Pi Phi as I think they were head and shoulders above Kappa last year. It was incredible to see so many PNMs last year down voting Kappa in favor of Pi Phi. Sure there is a degree of flux in any ratings so this year will be important to how things shake out. But what I think is great about our system is that we have strong houses across the board. But I do want to put it out there to PNMs to pay attention to how you are treated at each house and whether you truly like the people you meet at each event at each house. We have seen DG on a downward slide over the past few years due to toxic culture (hopefully leadership will continue to work on this issue so not so many people drop). I truly don't believe that Kappa environment is that different from DG. I hope both of these previously great houses can get it together as they have super strong history but I guess recent leadership has been lacking.

Spend time looking at how people are being treated by the sisters in the house and how the sisters treat EACH OTHER. Then think about how you are being treated and WHETHER YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE. I won't say rankings are irrelevant but given the sisterhood issues we have seen at some of the houses I seriously question how aware PNMs were about how the sisters interacted with each during recruitment and how PNMs felt they were treated. There are tons of comments on this site about last year and this will give you the 411 on what to be aware of as you make the rounds. Few people talk about sisterhood during the intro to recruitment but at the end of the day its the glue that holds a house together. If you look at the houses with sisterhood issues its easy to see as an outsider from the moment you enter the house. Don't be fooled by rankings and phoniness and really watch what is happening around you. The houses with sisterhood issues have poor leaders and have had their heads in the sand on this topic for a few years now and its finally starting to show up in the public rankings. Do your own thinking!

@time. Brava! Hope PNMs this year read your comment and this thread as you got it totally right! To PNMs if you don't feel you were welcomed and treated well then downvote the house where this happens. This is why happened to KKG and DG last year and they were punished both in ranking and quality of pledge classes. What is surprising though is that these houses didn't seem to take the experience to heart and work to improve sisterhood. Both houses largely denied these issues existed and then proceeded to bury their heads in the sand for the entire year. Too bad they didn't have better leaders. Maybe they have had a change of heart so it will be interesting to see what the feedback is this fall.
