difference between "top" and "upper" tier houses?

I know the top houses are considered zete, fiji, and sae and the upper tier is dke, pike, and sigma chi but is there really that much of a difference? They exchange with the same sorrorities so I was wondering why the divide.

Tradition, exclusivity, best parties, best relationships with top sororities, biggest/nicest houses, best gamedays, pledge process

the divide is there because as people we naturally need to feel better then others. think about it. you probably know ten people better then you and ten people you would consider worse. its just human nature and how we develop our identity.

also zete fiji and sae never have open parties
