sanctuary school status
by: mayQuestion: If I know my roommate is undocumented and I know her legal defense is being paid for by Cal can I get into trouble with immigration for not reporting her? A policeman stopped me today as I was leaving the dorm and asked me if I knew any undocumented students? I just answered that I had no idea what that meant and then I walked away quickly. I am scared though that I could be held responsible in some way as I know what is going on. Not sure what to do.

I truly wish that someone would pull up the video footage from one of the marches that have taken place over the past few months and publically OUT ever single one of the students that was holding an undocumented and proud sign. I then wish these students were brought in for questioning and if they are here illegally then they should be deported. I don't know why anyone would or could think that there is anything proud about be undocumented. Undocumented = ILLEGAL. Please just leave....

I finally have a new room so can come back from break to a new space. I heard my old roommate got paperwork from ICE and was taken to BPD for interview yesterday. So glad I don't have to deal with a problem that had zero to do with me. My old roommate was from Iran so my RA thinks that they might be immediately deported due to expired visa (10+ years) and no paperwork.
