updated spring cob info
by: SuzI've been hearing that because of the large fall classes that there won't be much Spring COB activity? Is this true? I also heard that DG has had a string of people dropping and is inviting friends of the house to come by to chat about membership? Is this ongoing COB allowed or is COB only allowed during certain defined periods? Also, why is COB so secret. I only heard about the DG situation as my roommate was approached by a friend of hers in the house that she knew from high school. Pretty shady in my opinion.

@COB...super secret and super super secret COB is an ongoing practice by most houses. My only advice is to meet as many people at as many houses as you can and do your best to network around the greek system. Sad to say buts its a game and COB seems to reward the best networkers vs best people in my view. Sad but true. My house added 3 people with a limited vote about which most members knew nothing. Many were pissed but nothing could be done. Its the way of greek life at CAL so get used to it as this practice totally sucks!

This Winter and Spring it wouldn't hurt to make some acquaintances with sorority women in your classes or at open sorority functions (fundraisers, sports events, coffee dates, etc). Also cast an eye to Cal panhel greek websites during late Spring and early summer 2017 for information on Fall 2017 recruitment (registration, fees, etc.).
